There are several washbasin styles available that completely hide the plumbing. The best would be a countertop or a vanity unit. Here the basin stands on top of a counter or unit, with all supply and water pipes hidden under furniture. If you do not have space for furniture, a wall-hung type with pedestal (which hide the pipes) would be a good option.
Both types of rim perform well and work to control the cascade of water into the vessel of the WC. Box rim pans are more expensive than open rim pans because they are more difficult to manufacture. However, they create less turbulence as the water flow is better controlled. They may be a little quiet in action.
